Nick Ford

Based on his strong engineering background in both Aerospace and Automotive disciplines Nick Ford has
developed an impressive career history. Nick has more than 40 years of experience in product development and
business strategy having worked at British Aerospace for 20 years and with Lucas/TRW for 13 years. Nick has also
been MD of a start up computing company which achieved £1M of sales in its first year of operation and is now an
independent business consultant specializing in the total Transport sector.
For the past 5 years Nick has been working closely with ATS Ltd in the UK assisting them with the market development
of their ULTra PRT system. Nick is also a senior consultant with Frost & Sullivan a provider of research and consultancy
support to blue chip companies across the world.
Key Projects
- The setting up of a 2 way manufacturing license for rugged
computing systems between BAe and Titian Corp.
- Joint development of a rugged PC between EMM Computers
and Telefunken System Technique (now part of DASA)
- Establishment of Joint Venture between TRW and Thales for
the development and manufacture of Adaptive Cruise
Control technology used in the automotive market.
- The establishment of a manufacturing license for ACC Radar
technology to the Visteon Corp.
- Defining key product strategy for TRW’s global steering business.
- Evaluating business strategy and direction for key
automotive OEMs and Tier 1 companies including Toyota,
Hyundai, Continental, Delphi.
- The development of UK interests in PRT systems in Cardiff,
Daventry, NW Leicestershire etc.
