In April 2013, the first VECTUS Intelligent People Movers started trial operations in Suncheon Bay, a coastal eco-park in South Korea which is world renowned for its nature, wetlands and wildlife.
The Suncheon Bay VECTUS transit is a privately funded design, build, operate and maintain project. With a fleet of forty emission free vehicles operating along five kilometres of elevated, double-tracked guideway, it will provide quiet, comfortable and efficient travel to those who visit the reserve. There will be two stations. Station One is located at the entrance to the International Garden Expo (opened April 2013) next to the International Wetlands Centre. Station Two terminus is situated next to the Suncheon Literature Museum.
